Retrospective February 2024

Reading Time: 4 minutes

Its important to keep checking and doing a retrospective. Here is mine retrospective for February 2024

It gives you the chance to pause think and then act.

You can take corrective actions or take a turn or completely change some paths which are no longer needed

What went well

  • AI Odyssey Challenge Results – Though I could not make it in the first three and missed the chance to go for the AI tour but in one of the poster where my picture came as I was in the top 5 from our org with Satya Nadella. Thats a kind of achievement to be in the same poster with Company CEO.

  • Weekend TestingParticipated in a 1.5 hour session where testers over a weekend (Saturday ~4 PM) come on a skype session, and do some testing and share their findings. Everything happens on a skype chat.(no calls). Watch our for post from Ajay on a saturday / sunday about this. So we have to test a password manager considering that our grandmother has to use it. I will share a details about how and what I tested and the mind map i prepared out of it in a separate post

  • Feature request for Test Case Studio – I have used this tool and found some improvement items. So added a feature request on github of this product page . Try the tool and if you are using it already feel free to put bugs / feature request on its Github page.
Retrospective feb 2024
  • Bug on Azure Dev Ops – While we were trying to update one test case in one suite, it was updating on multiple suite. So created a bug for the same. ITs important to do these things not just your project work.

  • Playwright Session at Office – Along with 2 of my colleagues, took a session on how Playwright is an awesome tool and what all various features it has which other tools are lacking and learning curve is not that steep compared to other tools. The Session had many memes, will put those soon on linkedin. Also checkout this instagram page too – udzialmeansshare to stay updated with the memes.

  • Topmate – Total 4 bookings in this month where people discussed about their concerns related to career / testing / automation and I tried to guide them based on my experience.Any guidance you need feel free to book a session for a detailed discussion @ Topmate

  • Interviews – Took 8+ interview for testing + automation profiles

  • Questioning – Asked some questions to the BA which lead to bug and new user stories got created to accomodate those suggestions. Asking question is an important skills for testers

  • Skip Level – Discussed the topic of how testing is important and we need experts to do it. Sighted various examples to put forward my point. Its important for testers to educate everyone about testing.

  • Meme Every Friday – On all 4 fridays of the month , i was able to post a meme on linkedin

When ChatGPT can make mathematical mistakes

Feeling grateful that my answers could help someone on Stackoverflow

What did not go well?

  • Some fields which were empty earlier in our application started to have data which caused failure in some of the automation scripts. So, we need to think from future perspective and put checks(assertions) considering data can come in near future looking at backlog.
  •  No videos on you tube / no post on this blog – There were plans though.
  • Missed to hear some of the ask in a call. Action taken – Using Copilot and paying more attention in calls

What’s Ahead

  • Need to complete the AI Series I started, check out if you have not done so. Very small videos with practical hands on – bit.ly/aiandcloud
  • Create notes on GitHub Pages for testing and automation
  • Some collaboration with some youtubers who have invited me on their channel
  • Try more AI stuff and share with everyone

Hope you have learned something from it. Any suggestions for me, feel free to ping on LinkedIn.
